Nigerian design label Wanger Ayu presents a new lookbook for its Autumn/Winter 2016 – 2017 collection.
Wanger Ayu is known for dipping into the past to bring to life fragments from a different era into the presence.
The Abuja based brand’s new collection consists of vintage pieces reminiscent of 70s era. It features tailored styles as well as casual looks.
The collection is a “retro-futuristic celebration of an era; drawing inspiration from current economic shifts, in which we find individuals and society reminiscing and desiring past glories with the hope for the future and all the possibilities it holds”, a label rep told online publication Bella Naija recently.
"Epoch combines the essence of 70s fashion with feminine details including floral prints, flirty frills, ruffles and lace, as well as a fresh edge in design cuts and styling.
"The label describes the collection as a “refreshing ode to the past, the present and the future.”
On Instagram, Wanger Ayu describes itself as “reconciling modern conflicts with inner rhythmic expressions.”
